Botanical name: Artemisia abrotanum var. maritima

Cola Plant is a perennial, herbaceous shrub.

As the name suggests, the tips of the shoots have the aroma and taste of ‘Cola’ and therefore the Cola Plant is very popular with children and adults alike.

The young blades, fresh or dried, are very suitable for seasoning meats and accompanying sauces, and also add freshness to a salad, fruit punch drink or to iced water. If you use more than the tips it becomes quite bitter.

This plant is also suggested to aid digestion, particularly after a heavy meal.

Grows up to 1.5 metre high x 30-60cm wide.

Prefers fun sun to part shade.

Recommended planting distance is 30-40cm apart.
